Experience Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel

Hotel | The Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel was the second of its kind and is the World's Northernmost Igloo Hotel. Each year our experienced artists and builders come together to build a new and unique hotel with a special theme.

View the main room with its many fantastic ice sculptures, visit the Ice Chapel, view a selection of the bedrooms, and generally experience the special ambience created by the ice construction. At the Ice Bar you may also purchase a special Igloo drink which is served in an ice glass.

Every year the hotel has a new unique theme from the Arctic part of the world. Woolen underwear is recommended for the night. While staying at the snow and ice hotel you can experience the nature around, relax in a warm atmosphere in the living room and enjoy a dinner in our restaurant. Our great (warm) restaurant serve á la carte menu based on local food and traditions. A table is reserved for you when staying the night.

Only twenty minutes from Alta city centre you can spend a night at the Igloo Hotel. The impressive 2,500m² structure is made entirely from snow and offers guests a unique experience every year. Apart from the 30 bedrooms the Hotel houses an ice bar, ice chapel and beautiful sculptures. When staying at the Hotel you will have access to our warm service building the whole stay. This building contains a luggage room where your bags are stored safely during your stay.

The rooms in the hotel contain only your bed, while other facilities like toilets, changing rooms, showers and sauna are in the warm service building, to ensure your comfort. The bathroom facility is public, we recommend to bring a small bag to easily bring your clothing from the luggage room to the bathroom area. When checking in you can make a reservation for the outdoor jacuzzi and for dinner in the restaurant, we reserve table for all of our guests staying in the hotel. You dont need to pre-book before arriving. The sauna is heated every morning at 7am and is included in the overnight stay.

The temperature inside the ice hotel is between -4 to -7 degrees. Thanks to natural reindeer-hides, mattresses and sleeping-bags that keep you warm, you will have a comfortable night. We recommend to bring woolen underwear for the night.
